Adilson Siqueira

Professor of the Theater Course at UFSJ and researcher of the Postgraduate Programs in Performing Arts and Interdisciplinary in  Arts and Urbanities and Sustainability, where he coordinates the ECOLAB-Laboratory of Ecopoetics of the Transdisciplinary Research Group in Arts, Cultures and Sustainability (GTRANS). Search the  relations between Performance, Sustainability and Climate Change with a view to developing a theoretical-practical framework and transdisciplinary strategies of socio-community action that have performativity, blackness and artivism as drivers and implementers of collective counter-hegemonic and decolonial practices that contribute to a change of attitude towards the Anthropocene and climate injustice from the perspective of performing arts.

Ailton Krenak

Ailton Krenak, indigenous human rights activist. Born in 1953, in Vale do Rio Doce, Minas Gerais, he belongs to the Krenak ethnic group. In 1987, in the context of discussions of the  Assembly  Constituent, he led the fight for the principles inscribed in the Federal Constitution of Brazil. He founded and directs at the Nucleus of Indigenous Culture; creator of the Festival of Indigenous Dances and Cultures, in the 1990s, in Serra do Cipó (MG). In 1987, he received the International Human Rights Award for Latin America Letellier Moffite, from the Letellier Foundation, in Washington DC.  Author of texts and articles published in collections in Brazil and abroad. In January 2016, he was awarded the diploma of ´Teacher Honoris Causa´  by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora-UFJF.

Alcione Gomes

Alcione Gomes do Pilar, a washerwoman since childhood, worked with her mother at the historic Fountain in Tiradentes city. From the age of 17, she kept the ritual of carrying her child in the laundry basin, during the night, until sunset. She speaks of her first profession with great pride and carries stories to delight those who listen to her.

Soul Maria Liebrecht

Alma Maria Liebrecht is the main horn player of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais . She was the horn player of the chamber music group Decoda, and has performed at the Chamber Music festivals in Portillo (Chile), Savannah (USA), Music from Angel Fire (USA), Festival Wien Modern (Austria), Contemplus Festival ( Czech Republic), as well as the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Ensemble Connect, New York Wind Soloists, Jupiter Chamber Players, Argento New Music Project and Talea Ensemble. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and completed his Masters at the Yale School of Music with Jerome Ashby and William Purvis, respectively.

Andrei Plakhov 

Andrei Plakhov is a critic, film historian and columnist for the Kommersant newspaper. Between 2005 and 2010, he was president of the International Federation of Film Critics. During perestroika , Plakhov was secretary of the “Union of Filmmakers of the USSR” and head of the committee that released more than 200 films banned by Soviet censorship. He serves as an advisor, programmer and member of the jury of several international film festivals including Berlin, Venice, Tokyo, San Sebastian, Shanghai, St Petersburg, Moscow. He is a member of the European Film Academy.

Anton Dolin

Anton Dolin is a film critic. Born in Moscow in 1976, studied in the department of philology at Moscow State University. He worked on the radio stations Ekho Moskvi, RSN, Kino FM, Vesti FM, Gazeta newspapers, Vethcernaia Moskva, Vedomosti, Moscow News. He worked as a journalist for the magazine Afisha and “Arte do Cinema”. He was a film presenter on the TV show “Vetchernii Urgant”. Author of several books, he has received the Russian Film Critics Guild Award three times. He is editor-in-chief of the leading Russian film magazine “Isskustvo kino”.

Graduated in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (1984), Master in Environmental Contamination Control - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (1990) and Ph.D. in Geography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2009). She is currently a professor in the Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering course at Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte-UNIBH, and coordinated the ecology course at Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte. She was a UN Consultant in Guatemala, she was an environmental advisor in Spain. He has experience in environmental engineering, urban, agrarian and cultural geography, with an emphasis on black African biogeography and ethnobotany, working mainly on the following topics: urban studies, anti-racist education, hydrology, socio-environmental justice, restoration of degraded areas , urban agriculture, ethnobotany, environment and education

Ara Harutyunyan

Ara Harutyunyan was born into a family of musicians in Yerevan, Armenia. Throughout his career, he has won several national and international competitions and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Armenia, Russia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Syria, Switzerland, the United States and Brazil. He won the Emin Khachatryan Nationl Competition in Armenia, International Youth competition of Georgia (third place). Harutyunyan earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. He was a member of the Yerevan String Quartet and violinist in the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2011 he moved to the United States. Harutyunyan was assistant speaker for the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra for a year before moving to Brazil in 2014 to take on the role of assistant speaker for the Philharmonic of Minas Gerais.

Bernardo Vaz

Bernardo Vaz has been working with popular organizations since 2005. Over the past 10 years, he has participated in several projects involving visual arts, cinema and communication. He is a member of the Eita Cooperative and recently of the Guaicuy Institute. He coordinates Beiras d'Água, a project that connects films made on the outskirts of Velho Chico and its tributaries.

Bruno Santos 

Percussionist Bruno Santos holds a bachelor's and master's degree from UFMG and a doctorate from the University of Aveiro (PT) where he studied with percussionist Miguel Bernat. He was a founding member of the group Oficina Música Viva and of the percussion trio Prucututrá in Belo Horizonte. He has worked with groups and artists such as João Pedro de Oliveira (PT), Toninho Horta, Harvey Wainapel (USA), Caito Marcondes, Felipe José, Drumming Grupo de Percussion (PT), Simantra Grupo de Percussion (PT), the Symphonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais. He is currently developing a duo with violinist Sofia Leandro, focusing on the dissemination of music by Latin American and Portuguese composers.

Caetano Dias

The beginning of the artistic career of the Bahian visual artist Caetano Dias is marked by his participation in Grupo Interferencias, with the creation of murals in public spaces in Salvador. In 1988, he performed the performance Hormônios de uma Cidade, at Teatro do ACBEU and a mural painting at Praça de Oxum/Terreiro Casa Branca. Since 1995, he has taught a painting course at the workshops of the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia - MAM/BA (Salvador BA). He works with video, painting, three-dimensional works, multimedia installation and digital photography. His works have been exhibited in several museums and international art centers, including the Berardo Museum (Lisbon, Portugal), the Ludwig Museum (Coblence, Germany), the II Luanda Triennial (Angola) and the III Bienal of Visual Arts of Rio Grande do Sul.

Cassia Lima

Cássia Lima completed a Bachelor's Degree in Flute at the Arts Institute of Unesp and a Master's and Artist Diploma at Mannes College of Music, in New York. He won the main soloist competitions in Brazil and the Mannes Concerto Competition. In the US, he received a scholarship from the Tanglewood Music Center, where he acted as chamber musician and first flute in the festival's orchestra. He was a professor at the University of Minnesota and was a member of the Minnesota Orchestra. Back in Brazil, he was the first flute and soloist at OSESP. Cássia has been the main flutist of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais since 2009, where she regularly works as a soloist.

Celestial Star

Woman, black, slum dweller, poet, actress, composer and rapper and member of the old guard at the Unidos de Manguinhos Samba School. She is 79 years old, from Minas, she was taken to Rio de Janeiro as a child. He lives in the Manguinhos favela where he has been resisting and has lived for over 40 years. She worked in family homes to raise her daughters and grandchildren, as a bus conductor at the former CTC and published her first poem in 1986, in the anthology "Nova Poesia Brasileira". In 2019, he published "Coroação Preta", a book of poetry and memoirs.

Brazilian son of Romanians, the young Cristian Budu emerges as a new reference in the pianistic world. Won the renowned Clara Haskil International Competition. Cristian has soloed in front of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, the Suisse Romande Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, OSESP, OSB, Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais, among many others. He has performed as a soloist in rooms such as KKL in Lucerne, Athenaeum in Bucharest, LAC in Lugano, Liederhalle, Jordan Hall, Sala São Paulo.  In Brazil, Cristian is the creator of the Pianosofia project, which has the support of Sociedade Cultura Artística, in order to "wake up" and recover the pianos that exist in people's homes, and to promote chamber music and local musicians.

Liça Pataxoop, from Itapecerica (MG), a teacher at the Muã Mimatxi village and author of the book “Te Hei, fishing for knowledge”, teaches new generations through a methodology that thinks about the countryside, territory, music and images. it is through the narrative-drawings that children learn to read with the images and learn about the values of life and nature that are part of the culture and territory of its people.

Eliana Alves Cruz

Eliana Alves Cruz, from Rio de Janeiro, writer, screenwriter and journalist (columnist for the UOL website), post-graduated in business communication. His debut novel, Água de lye. This saga won the 2015 Oliveira Silveira Award from the Palmares Cultural Foundation/Ministry of Culture and was honored by the Thomas Skidmore 2018 Award, from the National Archives and the American University Brown University.  Her second novel, O crime do pier do Valongo, was chosen as one of the best of the year in 2018 by critics of the newspaper O Globo and was awarded a semi-final at the Oceanos 2019 award. The author has featured in more than 10 collections. "I say nothing of you, that you do not see in you", released in June 2020 by Editora Pallas is his third historical novel.

Eder Santos

One of the pioneers of multimedia art in Brazil, video artist Eder Santos is recognized worldwide for developing hybrid projects that mix visual arts, cinema, theater, video and new media. It has works that are part of the permanent collections of the MoMA, in New York, and the Center Georges Pompidou, in Paris. Eder Santos' participation in biennials and festivals in Brazil and abroad is extensive, highlighting the partnership with the WWVF - World Wide Video Festival, held in Amsterdam-Netherlands, where the artist presented the installation Enciclopédia da Ignorância, also shown at the Milan-Italy Media Art Festival; at Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte and at Luciana Brito Galeria in São Paulo. In addition to creating exhibitions, video installations and video performances, Eder Santos has an award-winning career as a film director, having directed 15 short films, the TV series Contos da Meia-Noite (2004, TV Cultura, 90 episodes) and the feature film “Entangled People” (1995). Currently, he is dedicated to the production of his third feature film “A Casa do Girassol Vermelho”.

Edileusa Souza

Professor, Documentarian and Researcher, directed: Daughters of Washers (Brazil, 2019 – 22min); Women of Clay (Brazil, 2015 – 26min); Unlimited (Cuba, 2013 – 15min); A Peso for a Joke (Cuba, 2013 – 14min); Conta-Contos - the art of listening and telling stories (Fundação Cultural Palmares, 2010 -11min). Post doctor in Communication and Doctor in Education from the University of Brasília (unB). She was a student at EICTV - Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in San Antonio de los Banõs – Republic of Cuba, where she participated as producer, art director, screenwriter and actress in the award-winning short Teresa (Brazil/Cuba/Mexico/Venezuela, 2014). Organized the collection: “Negritude Cinema e Educação – Paths to implement law 10.639/2003”, edited by Mazza Edições. She is the creator and coordinator of the Competitive Exhibition of Black Filmmakers and Producers Adélia Sampaio.

Elise Pittenger

Elise Pittenger is a native of Baltimore, USA, where she began her cello studies at age 6 at the Peabody Conservatory. She moved to Brazil in 2010 to join the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais, in which she served as head of the cello section from 2011 to July 2015, and also performed as a soloist in 2012 and 2013. Elise has performed under the conducting by Kurt Masur, Seiji Ozawa, Charles Dutoit, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Fabio Mechetti, Isaac Kabachevsky, Carl St. Clair, and Maximiano Valdés, among others, in festivals and orchestras in the USA, Europe and Brazil. He also has extensive experience in chamber music, having been a member of the Haven String Quartet (USA) for two years. Elise is currently a professor of cello at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Eliane Coelho

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eliane Coelho has had a brilliant international career for over forty years. He was part of the Ensemble Neue Musik Hannover and the Frankfurt Opera, and later the Vienna Opera, in which he received the title of Kammersängerin, in 1998. In this prestigious space, as well as in the main European spaces, among which the theater La Scala and the opera Bastille, he performed alongside Plácido Domingos, José Carreras, Renato Bruson, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Bryn Terfel, Brigitte Fassbaender, Agnes Baltsa, Juan Pons, Neil Shicoff  and Sigfried Jerusalem. He was conducted by Zubin Metha, Riccardo Chailly, Sir Colin Davis and Seiji Ozawa in an operatic repertoire that includes 14 main Verdian roles, Tosca, Butterfly, Turandot, Arabella, Margherita, Lulu, in addition to Salomé, by Richard Strauss, one of his most outstanding interpretations and internationally praised by the critics. His extensive repertoire continues to be enriched with new roles.

Evgeny Landa

Evgeny Landa earned her degree in geophysics at the University of Novosibirsk (1972) and a doctorate in geophysics at the University of Tel Aviv (1986). He began his research career in the Soviet Union in Novosibirsk. After immigrating to Israel during 1981-2002, he worked at the Israel Geophysical Institute as Head of the Department of Seismic Research and Development. During 1987-1988, he did his postdoctoral research at the IPG (Paris). At the same time, he began his collaboration with the French oil company Elf Aquitaine (now TOTAL), where he was invited as a visiting scientist (1989-1990). During 2002-2014 he led the OPERA group (Applied Geophysical Research) in Pau (France) founded by TOTAL, where he was involved in different aspects of seismic data processing, construction of velocity models, time and depth images, diffraction images . He is currently the professor at Tell Aviv University. Evgeny has published over 70 articles in international journals and a book 'Beyond Conventional Seismic Imaging' (EAGE publication).

Fernando Rocha

Fernando Rocha is professor of percussion at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Throughout his career, he has participated as a soloist and member of a chamber group in numerous international festivals, both in Brazil and abroad. He has also collaborated with several composers in the creation of new works, having held the first audition of works by Almeida Prado, Sérgio Freire, Roberto Victorio, Sílvio Ferraz (Brazil), João Pedro Oliveira (Portugal), Lewis Nielson, Douglas Boyce (USA) , Nicolas Gilbert, Geof Holbrook (Canada) and Mario Alfaro (Costa Rica). He is currently the director of the UFMG Percussion Group and the Sonante 21 Contemporary Music Group, in addition to being a member of the Oficina Música Viva group.

Flavia Motta

Viola Flávia Motta began her musical studies at age seven in her hometown, Juiz de Fora. In 1999, he won the Paulo Bosísio Young Soloist Contest. He was a member of the Orquesta de Jóvenes Latinoamericanos and has performed as a guest musician with the Simón Bolívar Symphonic Orchestra. Flávia performed in concerts under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Gustavo Dudamel, Christoph Eschenbach, EijiOue, Iván Fischer, Rostropovich, Christoph von Dohnányi and Semyon Bychkov. Flávia was a member of the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, the Petrobrás Symphonic Orchestra, the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater Orchestra and the Camerata Antiqua de Curitiba, the latter two as head of the Violas section. In 2013 he moved to Belo Horizonte when he joined the viola section of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais. Since 2016 he has been a member of the Boulanger Quartet, a group dedicated to contemporary music

François Andes

Born in 1969, François Andes lives and works in northern France, in Faches-Thumesnil. Highlight of the salon Ddessin 2017 (Paris), he is an associated artist of the GACC He participated in several group and individual exhibitions, among which the exhibition “The Spirit of the Place” stands out, alongside the artists C. Lévêque and A. Fleischer, at the Center of Contemporary Art LabLabanque, in Béthune; and the exhibition at the Château du Rivau. His work as a visual artist also includes performances at Noites Brancas (Nuit blanches), in Paris, at the Musée de la Piscine, in Roubaix or at the European Capital of Culture, in Mons, in 2015.

Genevieve Azam

Geneviève Azam is an environmental activist, economist, professor and researcher at the Université Toulouse-Jean-Jaurès. Remarkably inspired by the works of Karl Polanyi, Simone Weil and Marcel Mauss, it has led debates and proposals based on the concept of “alterglobalism”, a movement whose proponents defend global interaction and cooperation, but opposing the negative effects of globalization economic, since it does not adequately promote human rights, environmental and climate preservation, economic justice, labor protection and assistance to indigenous communities, for example.  Geneviève Azam has also carried out numerous actions, such as denouncing the cultivation of transgenics in open fields and supporting the voluntary cutters of the association “Alternative en Midi-Pyrénées”. His first book released in Brazil is “Carta à Terra – e a Terra responds”, with a preface by Ailton Krenak and translation by Adriana Lisboa. She is also the author of the books Le Temps du monde fini (LLL, 2010), Osons rester humain. Les Impasses de la toute-puissance (LLL, 2015) and Simone Weil or L'Expérience de la necessité (with Françoise Valon, Le Passager Clandestin, 2016).

William Vincens

Guilherme Vincens is a guitarist, Ph.D. in musical performance and ethnomusicology from the University of Arizona, where he studied with Thomas Patterson and David Russell. He received 12 awards in international guitar competitions, highlighting First Place in the XI Portland International Competition (USA). He has performed in important concert halls in Brazil, United States, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Chile, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany, where he also performed as a soloist at Collegium Musicum Potsdam. In 2012, he released his album “Portrait”. He is a professor at the Federal University of São João del Rei – UFSJ.

Guilherme Gontijo Flores is a poet, translator and professor of Latin at the Federal University of Paraná. published the poems of  misleading ember  (2013),  troyads  (2014-2015),  l'azur Blase  (2016),  Naharia  (2017)  and  coal : : grass  (2017 in Portugal, 2018 in Brazil), in addition to the novel  jewel story  (2019). translated  The Anatomy of Melancholy  by Robert Burton, the  Sixth Propertium Elegies  and  Sappho: complete fragments among others. wrote the essay  the ventriloquated woman  (2018). He is co-editor of the blog-magazine  escamandro and is a member of the Pecora Loca group, of poetry and(m) translation. Gustavo Carvalho

Gustavo Carvalho studied with Oleg Maisenberg, at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, and with Elisso Virsaladze, at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Winner of the II Nelson Freire Competition (Rio de Janeiro), he has performed in important concert halls such as the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Auditorium du Louvre, the Philharmonie am Gasteig of Munich and the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. In 2011, he performed the entirety of the 32 Beethoven Sonatas. Soloist of several orchestras, under the direction of Ira Levin, Howard Griffiths, Yuri Bashmet and Evgeny Bushkov, among others. As chamber musician, he played with violinists Geza Hosszu-Legocky and Daniel Rowland, pianists Nelson Freire and Elisso Virsaladze, and with members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. His interest in 20th and 21st century music gave him collaborations with several contemporary composers, such as Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Harry Crowl, Sérgio Rodrigo and György Kurtág.

Isis Ferreira

Black woman, peripheral, mother of Morena, warrior daughter of lansan. Samba, craft and love singer. Born in Barbacena/MG, he moved in 2009 to São João Del Rei where, since then, he has been developing his artistic and professional life. He graduated in Popular Singing from Bituca - University of Popular Music and in Musicalization and Theater by Cia. Elas por Elas, (Barbacena). Actress specialized by CPPA - Preparation Course for Actors, by Cia Teatro da Pedra (São João Del Rei) and Bachelor of Theater by UFSJ. He has performed professionally with various backgrounds and musical styles in the region of Vertentes since 2010. In 2019 he started his first authorial project, and had one of his songs awarded second place in the Festival de Música Autoral das Vertentes (FEMAV).

Iza Reys

Izabella known as Iza Reys, is a marginal poet, descended, on her mother's side, from the North of Minas (Montes Claros) and on her father's part from the Quilombo de Pihões (Santa Luzia). “I live in Belo Horizonte (Northwest), through my window and the folds of my flip flops I transcribe the reality of favelas and black people in Brazilian society.”

Lidi Wolf

Lidi Lobo is 38 years old and is from Rio de Janeiro from Bangu, a suburb of Rio de Janeiro. She studied Portuguese Literature at UFSJ until 2010, when she left college, moved to Minas Gerais and began working as a professional photographer. Between 2016 and 2017, she participated in the 'Nascer Sorrindo' project, recording the births of women leaving the countryside in search of a respectful birth in Belo Horizonte, more precisely at Hospital Sofia Feldman. A resident of Tiradentes since 2017, she is a graduate student of the Pedagogy course at UFSJ and one of the creators and coordinators of the MUSA project - Mulheres Sonhando Alto. Between fights and dreams, he is a poet, artisan, housewife and mother of Lucília, 2 years old.

Lucimélia Romão street artist and performer. Born in Jacareí, in the interior of São Paulo. Actress, graduated in 2013 in the technical course in Theater at the Municipal School of Arts Maestro Fêgo Camargo in Taubaté/SP. Graduated in Theater at the Federal University of São João Del Rei - MG where she researches theater and black performance. She is co-creator of the theater group Cia Mineira de Teatro. Currently circulates with the performance  A THOUSAND LITERS OF BLACK: THE TIDE IS FULL; and the show DEFICIT; participated in several festivals and was awarded at the FESTU-Rio de Janeiro/RJ (Competitive show of short scenes) in 2018 for the work Olha o Pesado.

Luiz Cruz

He was born and lives in Tiradentes. He is a professor, researcher, author and editor. He studied arts at FAOP, in Ouro Preto, and at the School of Visual Arts in Rio de Janeiro; graduated in Letters from UFSJ/INCA, specialist in Administration and Management of Protected Areas from UEMG/USFish, master and doctoral candidate in Architecture and Urbanism at UFMG. Coordinated the Tiradentes Heritage Education Project, supported by BNDES. He currently coordinates the project “Guia das Butterflies of Serra de São José”, an initiative of the CMPCP of Santa Cruz de Minas.

Marilda chestnut

Marilda Castanha was born in Belo Horizonte, where she graduated in Fine Arts at UFMG. He has dozens of illustrated books and participation in exhibitions, in Brazil and abroad. Among the awards received, the following stand out: the Illustration Jabuti in 2000 and 2011 (respectively with the books “Pindorama terra das Palmeiras” and “One thousand and one stars”). In 2017, she was awarded at the Nami Concours, in the Purple Island category, in South Korea, with the book “Sem Fim”. Last year, she was one of the curators of the FLI BH (Literary Festival of Belo Horizonte) and also participated in Espaço Infância, at the Rio de Janeiro Book Biennial, producing exclusive illustrations for the installation “Cobra Norato”. Today, Marilda lives and works as an author and illustrator of children's books in Santa Luzia, MG.

Matthew Burtner 

Matthew Burtner is an Alaskan born composer and sound artist. His music and research explore corporeality, ecology, polytemporality and noise. Matthew is first prize winner of the International Electroacoustic Music Competition Musica Nova (Czech Republic), Winner of the 2011 IDEA Award. Burtner has also received awards from Bourges (France), Gaudeamus (Netherlands), Darmstadt (Germany) and The Russolo (Italy) in international competitions. He is the Professor of Composition and Computer Technologies (CCT) at the University of Virginia, where he co-directs the Coastal Futures Conservatory. He is also director of the Alaska-based environmental arts nonprofit EcoSono (www.ecosono.org).

Master Captain Nail

Claudinei Matias do Nascimento, better known as Mestre-Capitão Prego, was born in the city of Barroso/MG. From the age of 7, having his grandfather, a slave from the Tiradentes region, as a reference in congado, he began to participate and integrate the revelry. In 2010, he returned to capoeira practices and is the first captain of the Congado Nossa Senhora do Rosário Escrava Anastácia. Craftsman with his wife, they work at the Ateliê Boa Memória, where he exhibits his works made using gourds, vines and bamboo.

Mia Couto

Mia Couto was born in 1955 in the city of Beira. He lived in that city until he was 17 years old, when he went to Lourenço Marques to study Medicine. He interrupted the course to start a journalistic career that lasted until 1985. On his own initiative, he returned to the University to study Biology, having finished the course in 1989. To date, he works as a biologist in Mozambique. He has published over 30 books that are translated and edited in thirty different countries. His books cover different genres from novels to poetry, from short stories to children's books. He has received dozens of awards in his career, including - twice - the National Literature Prize, the Camões Prize and the Neustad Prize, considered the North American Nobel Prize. In 2016, he was a finalist for one of the most prestigious international awards, the Man Booker Price. His novel Terra Sonâmbula was considered by an international jury gathered in Zimbabwe as one of the 10 best African books of the 20th century. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters.

Mônica Cerqueira

Mônica Cerqueira studied Social Communication and before graduating, she began her career in the cultural area as a programmer at CINE HUMBERTO MAURO, where she worked between 1980 and 1988. At 30, she started her ventures as a businesswoman, founding and directing important spaces in the cultural life of city in the 80s and 90s. Between 2004 and 2010 she was Programming Director at FUNDAÇÃO CLÓVIS SALGADO. Between 2010 and 2015 she worked in the curatorship and coordination of cultural projects and actions at MM GERDAU - Museum of Mines and Metal, in Belo Horizonte. In 2016, he held several workshops in the interior of Minas Gerais to activate local film clubs. Mônica also works as a screenwriter, starting her career as a screenwriter with the encouragement and partnership of the artist Eder Santos.

Monik Ellen, student of the Applied Arts course with an emphasis on Ceramics at UFSJ, mother of Raul and Aurora, born in Barbacena, 32 years old. She works with photography as a way to get to know herself and help other women with this process. Clay entered life with the function of grounding and materializing ideas in connection with the ancestral force. Art has been a means that neutralizes the ends where the paths open up for a life full of possibilities in everyday experiences.

Renata Vanucci 

Singer and researcher Renata Vanucci has great aesthetic and technical versatility, whether for lyrical singing or for the different nuances that characterize popular singing. He studied at the UFMG Music School with Neyde Thomas, Stephen Bronk and Ariel Coelho. With Thomas Richards and Mario Biaggini from Grotowski's Workcenter, he intensified his work on interpretive and performance issues. Singer of the vocal group Caffeine Trio, she also forms the duo Vanucci Vincens with guitarist Guilherme Vincens. He participated in several Jazz festivals, concerts, operas and cantatas in the country and abroad. She is currently a professor at UFSJ and conductor of the Coro VivAvoz, which is part of the Cultural Action of the Festival Artes Vertentes.

Roberto Victoria

Bachelor of guitar and conducting. Master in Composition and Doctor in Ethnomusicology. As a researcher, his work is focused on  the ritual music of the Bororo ethnic group from Mato Grosso. As a composer he has in his catalog more than two hundred works recorded and performed in the main events in Brazil and abroad, receiving numerous awards,
As conductor, he performed with the Rio de Janeiro Chamber Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Federal University of Mato Grosso - with a repertoire exclusively focused on contemporary production. He is the conductor, musical director and instrumentalist of SEXTANTE, a chamber group he founded in 1986 in Rio de Janeiro and which until today, in Mato Grosso, works exclusively with contemporary Brazilian musical production. He is a professor of Composition, Ethnomusicology and Music Aesthetics at the undergraduate and Master's in Contemporary Culture Studies (ECCO) at the Federal University of Mato Grosso, Member of the Artistic Council of Camerata Aberta de SP and creator of the Contemporary Brazilian Music Biennials of Mato Grosso .

Sofia Leandro

Violinist Sofia Leandro was born in Portugal and completed her violin studies at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). She collaborated with several orchestras and was a teacher in several schools in the north of her native country. As chamber musician, he developed a duo with pianist Francisca Fernandes and joined the Trio Ímpar (saxophone, violin and piano), with a focus on contemporary music and with which he had the opportunity to make numerous premieres. He develops a duo with percussionist Bruno Santos, focusing on the dissemination of music by composers from Latin America and Lusophony.

Svetlana Ruseishvili

Svetlana Ruseishvili is a sociologist, graduated from the University of Moscow, with a Masters in Social Sciences from the School of High Studies in Social Sciences in Paris and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of São Paulo. She is currently a professor at the Department of Sociology at the Federal University of São Carlos and academic coordinator of the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair for refugees at the same institution. She also coordinates InterMob - Interdisciplinary Group for the Study of Migration and Mobility.

Ebomi Cici or Nancy de Souza, also called Grandma Cici, is a well-known storyteller, master griot. She works at Espaço Cultural Pierre Verger, in Salvador, dialoguing with children who attend cultural workshops and assisting researchers of Afro-Brazilian culture.  As master Grio, she has traveled to various places and brought the art of storytelling, especially those linked to the universe of Candomblé, one of the Afro-Brazilian religions, of which she is a part.  Cici also helped photographer and anthropologist Pierre Verger in the last 2 years before his death to caption nearly 11,000 photos linked to Afro-Brazilian culture, to Benin, Togo, Ghana, Nigeria and countries in North Africa.

wallace walnut

Wallace Nogueira, a filmmaker with a background in philosophy, is a director, screenwriter, photographer, editor and finisher, as well as a designer with some published publications. He is a founding partner of Vogal Imagem, a production company founded in 2006. He produced his first feature film between 2008 and 2010 for the DOCTV BRASIL IV program, Álbum de Família. He then produced award-winning short films such as "Carranca", 2014, and "Menino do Cinco", 2012. Wallace taught courses in some projects, training audiovisual teachers and conducting workshops and tutoring (Bahia State Arts Training Center, Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, Kabum-School of Interactive Communication), and contributes to the realization of audiovisual projects of other filmmakers and partnerships. He currently lives in Olinda, PE and is a contributor to Vídeo nas Aldeias, accumulating workshops, montages, photographs and achievements.

Zandra Coelho

Artist and teacher, Zandra Miranda is a postdoctoral fellow in Arts at UNESP -  Universidade Estadual Paulista, PhD in Visual Arts from UNICAMP - State University of Campinas, Master of Arts from the University of Illinois, with studies in art education and plastic research in ceramics, painting and engraving. His graduation includes a Bachelor's and a Licentiate in Arts from UNICAMP - State University of Campinas. Currently, Zandra works as an effective professor at the Federal University of São João del Rei - UFSJ, in the Applied Arts course and in the PIPAUS graduate program - Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability, and develops her plastic and poetic work in engraving, painting and ceramics.
